THE KEY TO YOUR BUSINESS FINANCE

What Happens After You Enquire

Real Key Accountancy bookkeeper explaining the enquiry process to a small-business owner
A clear, professional process from your first enquiry to agreed onboarding.

Our accountancy enquiry process should feel straightforward. This page explains what happens after you enquire with Real Key Accountancy Limited, what information we may request and how we confirm whether the work is within our approved professional scope.

Our response commitment: We aim to acknowledge new enquiries within two business days, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. If your deadline is urgent, please state the date clearly in your enquiry. We cannot guarantee that urgent work can be accepted.

Our six-step enquiry process

1

You contact us

Tell us your business type, the support you need, your current record-keeping method and any known deadline.

2

We acknowledge your enquiry

We aim to respond within two business days during our Monday-to-Friday working week, excluding bank holidays.

3

We clarify your requirements

We may ask about your legal structure, transaction volume, software, filing position, records and the services you require.

4

We check scope and suitability

Before accepting work, we confirm that the requested service is covered by our current practice licence, competence and capacity.

5

You receive a written proposal

If the work is suitable, we explain what is included, your responsibilities, the information required and the agreed fee.

6

Onboarding begins

Required identification, engagement and compliance checks are completed before work starts. We then agree how records will be supplied securely.

What information helps us respond accurately?

  • Your business type and legal structure
  • The bookkeeping, VAT, payroll or other support you are seeking
  • Approximate monthly transaction volume
  • Accounting software currently used, if any
  • Relevant filing dates or deadlines
  • Whether another bookkeeper or accountant currently holds your records

Frequently asked questions

Does an enquiry mean you have accepted the work?

No. An enquiry starts an initial assessment. Work is accepted only after scope, competence, capacity and onboarding requirements have been checked and agreed in writing.

What if my deadline is very close?

Tell us the exact deadline immediately. We will explain whether we have capacity to help. An urgent deadline does not guarantee acceptance or completion.

When will I receive a price?

We first establish the services required and expected transaction volume. If the work is suitable, we provide a clear written proposal before onboarding.

Can you transfer records from my current provider?

Where appropriate, we agree a transfer process with you and explain what permissions or records are required. Timescales depend on the information available and the other provider’s response.

What happens if the work is outside your approved scope?

We explain the limitation and recommend that you seek help from an appropriately qualified and authorised specialist. We do not present general guidance as personalised specialist advice.
